We Icelandic Friends of Israel
are profoundly concerned with the deadly war conducted by Israel in Lebanon.
We are witnessing a continuous erosion of public sympathy for Israel in Iceland and the world at large.
We view with great apprehension the consolidation of hatred and distrust among Arabs towards Israel as a result of Israels refusal to recognize the Palestinians national rights.
We call on Israels leaders to heed the plea of Israels friends in the world by stopping the war in Lebanon and to propose to the Palestinian nation and its recognized leaders a negotiated solution, based on reciprocal recognition of both peoples national rights.
