SPECIAL REPORT
LONDON, England (CNN) — Police have been searching properties in northern England in connection with the July 7 London suicide bomb attacks that killed 52 people and injured more than 700.
One of the raids took place on Tuesday in Beeston, a suburb of Leeds, West Yorkshire, where two of the bombers came from, police in London said on Friday.
Other properties, in Batley, West Yorkshire, and one in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, were searched on Wednesday, police added.
"Searches remain ongoing. No arrests have been made," the Metropolitan Police said.
"This is in connection with the terrorist attack in London on July 7."
Hasib Hussain, 18, from Beeston, carried out the bus bombing in Tavistock Square, and Shahzad Tanweer, 22, also from Beeston, carried out the bombing at Aldgate Station.
Mohammed Sidique Khan, 30, carried out the attack at the Edgware Road Tube station, and Germaine Lindsay, 19, bombed the train between King’s Cross and Russell Square stations.
Two weeks later, four men attempted to replicate the deadly attacks, but their backpack bombs did not fully detonate after the suspects dropped the bags and ran from their targets.
Police do not believe the attacks were directly linked.
