Mr. Schilling, was at the time he was included in the present Register, Readers’ Editor of the Danish daily Politiken. According to a letter to the Webmaster of June 24, 2013, he endorsed the view promoted by Politiken that Mohamed Atta participated in the mass-murder of September 11, 2001. Having been advised that this allegation is unsubstantiated; having been advised that accusing innocent persons of murder violates ethical standards of journalism; having been provided with a list of twenty eminent scholars who found no evidence for this allegation; Mr. Schilling refused to reconsider his unsubstantiated allegation.  Mr. Schilling declined to avail himself of forensic data demonstrating the lack of substance for this accusation.

Mr. Schilling thus fulfilled two of the criteria for inclusion in the register Enemies of the People:

– he demonstrated his determination to deceive the public regarding the mass-murder of 9/11 and
–  demonstrated his determination to uphold the gross defamation of Mohamed Atta through his newspaper.
